How to compare 2–5 stocks or ETFs
What this is for
Use this when you want 2 to 5 Thai or US stocks or ETFs in one table. Pick columns such as P/E, P/B, dividend yield, and market cap. It is not a buy/sell signal and not a score of which name is best.
Steps
- Open the home page. Choose country (Thailand / United States / All) and type (Stocks / ETFs / All).
- Industry Group / Sector filters work after you select one country and Stocks. Thailand uses SET Industry Group then Sector. The United States uses Yahoo Sector then Industry. All-countries and ETFs disable both — select a country first.
- Search a name or ticker and add it. Compare starts automatically at 2 names and stops at 5.
- Use Remove to drop a name from the set.
- Use Transpose to put metrics on rows and names on columns.
- Show or hide metric columns you want to read.
- If a figure is unclear, open the SET page (Thai stocks) or the Yahoo page (US stocks and ETFs).
Stocks vs ETFs: missing metrics
Company ratios — ROE, ROA, and margins — are not used for ETFs here. Those columns or combos are disabled on an ETF compare. P/E, yield, beta, and other Yahoo ETF figures show when Yahoo sends them. A blank is not zero.
Make the comparison meaningful
Compare similar businesses: banks with banks, or ETFs that track a similar index. KBANK vs SCB is one question. DELTA vs a bank is not.
Teaching sets (not recommendations): KBANK, SCB, BBL; PTT vs PTTEP; AOT vs BEM; CPALL vs MAKRO; DELTA vs HANA; AAPL vs MSFT; SPY vs QQQ.
What not to conclude
- Low P/E is not a buy
- High yield is not proof of strength (a falling price lifts yield)
- Larger market cap is not safer
- Trailing 1-year performance is not a forecast (here it is price only, excluding dividends)
- Do not rank unrelated sectors as “better”
- If a cell is blank or the company lost money, do not invent a number
About the data
Figures are unofficial delayed end-of-day Yahoo Finance data and may be blank. This is not a broker trading screen and is not limited to SET/mai names.
